Just a thought.
I keep hearing people say, “The problem with EDM is ___,” and then they give some reason. I believe that the “problem” EDM is that it’s synonymous to raves, and that raves are synonymous with drugs. EDM doesn’t get hated on because of its lyrics (which are usually about love and happiness), but rather EDM gets hate because of what goes on when the lyrics are played. I think that in order to keep EDM alive and flourishing there needs to be a serious cutback on raves. I think someone seriously needs to buyout Insomniac because they’ve gotten so money-hungry and sloppy it’s a joke. Stop having all these wonderlands. Make majority of raves 21+, and make EDC only a west coast event. Downsize raves and festivals for the hopes of growing EDM. Right now the music may be about love, the events are solely about the money and nothing else.
